My little one loved the story time! My only negative was that their toy room, most the toys were missing pieces. She still had fun but I would prefer another library. I only checked out the kids section but will be going back to check out the adult sections and all they have to offer!

The Irondequoit government staff is very fond of not opening their buildings during scheduled hours. They decide unilaterally when they will be open, or closed, and do not observe their own posted hours. They notify citizens of these schedule changes by taping a note to their door. In order to learn that the library is actually closed, you need to go to the library and find out. Not everyone has that kind of time to waste. I've noticed our public works building does the same. The selection of children's books at this library is rather sad. You have to dig in order to find any picture book of redeeming value. Older books and classics are buried, or gone. The books that are readily accessible and on display are not there because they are interesting, or even well-written, but they made it to our library shelves because they push the right kind of ideology. I tend to read my children books so their imaginations can expand, and they can hear the language used excellently. Not so that they can be sermonized.

A big, beautiful library where I like to take my work. However, it is easily the loudest library I have ever entered, to the point that I don't know if I can use it anymore. People of all ages, even older generations who you would expect to know how to behave, often speak loudly, and most of the parents I see do not even attempt to control their children. I wish that staff would encourage people to keep their volume down and maybe even post signage asking people to be quieter. Do people seriously not know that you're supposed to be quiet in a library? People are trying to read, study, and work. Shut. Up.

This library is AMAZING! The architecture is so cool and they have a great selection, since it’s actually two libraries combined. It’s worth coming here even if you’re not from Irondequoit!

They don't have the most comfortable chairs... and the front desk people are very awkward. It is a nice library for books though. Not so much for reading them or studying. They have rooms to reserve for meetings or studying but again, not very comfortable seating.

Absolutely stunning library and the staff are so friendly and helpful! Many programs for teens which is hard to find and the tween/teens have their own beautiful library upstairs!
